| A few miles along the coast lie the romantic and mysterious ruins of Tintagel Castle. Archaeologists have yet to find the definitive answers to the history of these echoes of history past. Was it a Roman settlement, or a Dark Age Palace, or the stronghold of the Earls of Cornwall? And was King Arthur, he of the many legends, born there?
There is a half mile walk along rough track to get there from the village: no cars, but there is a landrover service from Easter to the end of October. | |
