The flat-racing includes some of the major events in the racing calendar, including "Royal Ascot" when the Royal Family travel by horse-drawn coach from Windsor Castle up the race course, and when the fashions seen in the Royal Enclosure - and the fashions excluded as unseemly - attract as much attention as the horses.
