| Cowes. Cowes is one of the Island's major towns, famous for its yachting events. | |||
In that very special week, the major yachting clubs manage to pack lots of different races and events to watch or to join in. This boating flourish of activity culminatess with the annual Regatta of the Royal Yacht Squadron. The world famous Fastnet race starts from Cowes every alternate odd year, attracting huge crowds of yachting enthusiasts. Almost every week end , as well as Thursday and Friday evenings, more races are organised by the Island Sailing Club, the East Cowes Sailing Club and the Corinthian Yacht Club. | |||
