Hunting is a fundamental part of the culture of the peoples in south west France, and now we can offer the famous beret in a style that adds chic to the hunter anywhere! Made to the same standard as our other berets in a khaki green with an embroidered logo that marks the wearer as a hunter of distinction.
The berets are made by the same manufacturer who makes the other berets in our range, marrying the age-old traditions of beret-making with modern technology to create a truly excellent product. Made from pure wool, their berets conform with all the requirements of that most demanding of customers, the French army.
These hunting berets come in two qualities: the
traditional Basque beret (medium quality, 10 inch
diameter) is made from the finest quality weather-proofed wool, partially lined
and has a leatherette band inside. You need to specify your head size. The
lightweight quality is also made from 100% wool, is 10 inches in diameter, and
comes in one size to fit all. Both qualities come in just the one colour, khaki
green.
There are four designs to choose from: duck, wild boar, woodcock and pigeon - the beloved palombe of the French south west.
Of course you do not need to be a hunter to own one of these stunning berets - you might just as well be interested in conservation!

Below is a table giving approximate equivalents for European head sizes. The circumferance - in centimetres - can be measured by putting a tape measure round where the sweat band of a hat normally fits. The approximate equivalent cap size used in the US is also given.

Customers outside the European Union do not have to worry about this nasty European habit. Prices are quoted in Euros, because that is what will be charged.
