Yes, we know. All our other pages on food are full of gastronomic delights too. This is where we have those other items that do not fall easily into categories and that more often than not you will want to create your own masterpieces of the table!
This is where you find that wonderful member of the mushroom family, the cèpe, a flavour to die for. Almost literally! Collecting cèpes in the season is a serious business, and it is not unknown for enthusiastic but rival cèpe hunters to come to a violent confrontation in the woods and forests of South West France. Use cèpes in omelettes to create an unforgettable dish, or add them to your stews and casseroles to make a really special dish. Jean Lafargue provides us with cèpes in oil.
Then there are the piments d'Espelette, the renowned Espellete peppers, used to such great effect to add a delicate piquancy to many Basque dishes. Not overpoweringly hot - poviding you do not add too much - the Espellete pepper is justifiably celebrated by garlands and fêtes. Thanks to Vicent Darritchon, an important grower, we can now send these anywhere - even to America!

POSTAGE & INSURANCE: Postage is calculated by weight. Items will be sent by airmail unless you specify otherwise. NB: express is very expensive. If your package comes to more than 2 kilos it is sent automatically by recorded delivery EXCEPT to N America where they do not believe in such a service. OUTSIDE N America if you tick the insurance box for items less than 2 kilos they will be sent by recorded delivery. The extra charge is 24 FF. N American clients who want insurance should tick the insurance box whatever the weight. The extra cost is 39 FF upto a value of 500 FF of merchandise and 2.50 FF for each 500FF thereafter.
