Saint Engrâce is a scattering of houses and farms deep in one of the valleys of the Pyrénées, where the traditions of hill-farming are still strong. Its main link to the world was washed away by a storm in the early 1990s, though it has since been restored.
One of the deepest gorges in the Western Pyrénées, a walk-way has been built alongside the mountain stream for visitors. Deep caves lie at the far end. There is a small entry charge during the summer for the upkeep of the gorge - the path was washed away a few years ago.
