High up on a side of the Aspe Valley lies the remarkable village of Lescun, nestling in its circle of mountains. Hardly touched by the 20th century, it is an excellent example of local architecture and were it not for modern means of transport you could stand in the middle and easily imagine yourself back in the 15th century.
Lescun is the base for some hearty although not too difficult walks.
Close by the village is the refuge de l'Abérouat, worth reaching for its magnificent views.
